Art & Vins

"A good wine is the one I like, well balanced, it's a unified whole"

Patrick is a passionate who works into the wine industry for many many years (he kept it secret like his age!)
The motto of this cellar is : "The experience of drinking"
Whatever you want to drink you could find it here, red wine, white one or even spirituous, there is a large range of choice.

More than a cellar, you can also do a tutored tasting about wine, champagne or any spirituous. Once per month, you'll learn the making, the terroir and the tasting.

Let's see the 3 wines he suggested :

- Côtes de Roussillon, Domaine de Vénus 2008, 10€ (red) :
From a property of 6 hectares, made of Syrah, Carignan and Grenache, this wine has a very beautiful intense, clear garnet red color

- Bordeaux Supérieur, Château Vieille Chapelle 2010, 8.90€ (red) : Hand made with 80% of Merlot, its round and greedy with soft powerful tannin

- Villa Chambre d'Amour 2010, 7.50€ (white) : Manseng and Sauvignon Blanc are collected to give this sweet, refreshing and sweet wine at a time. It enchants with its notes of grapefruit, pineapple, pear and vanilla bourbon and its low alcohol (10.5%). A wine that bears the evocative name of the famous beach of Anglet, on the Atlantic Coast.

Welcome to l'OENOLIMIT !

"A good wine is the one that brings you to the second glass and why not to the second bottle"

This place, located 8 rue des Ayres is just AWESOME !

The owner is an oenologist who worked with Gordon Ramsey (just that!), the cellar man is an ex winemaker : you're definitely in good hands when you're coming here !

Cyril, cellar man welcomed us passionate about wine, he's working at L'Oenolimit for more than a year now and his motto his : "We're learning everyday"

Opened since June 2009, it was first a cellar, but became a wine bar as well.
The concept : To make people discover new things. Opened all week long from 12pm to 12am, you can have a glass of wine (or bottles ! as you want) to drink in or take away (only 'til 10pm!)
Come and enjoy this place cosy and original.

L'Oenolimit suggests as well tasting session to talk about wine and to discover the secret of tasting & winemaking.

From 4 to 10 people you can come with your friends, family, who you want, to spend hours talking about this product we all love !

Like every week, we asked him to suggest 3 wines :

- Hérault, Mas de l'oncle cuvée Denis 2009, 15€ (red) : Made with 100% Chenanson, this wine is coming from a little production really rare. Powerful but well balanced it taste like ripe black fruits.

- Côtes de Gascogne, Guillaman cuvée Colombard 2012, 6€ (white) : This wine fruity and floral is perfect for the aperitif, its bouquet is breathtaking !

- Bordeaux, Chateau Haut Cruzeau 2010, 8.50€ (red) : Drinkable today or in 4years, the tannin is quite rounded and melted, tasting like blackcurrant & blackberry. It's all about structure, that's the reason we chose it !

Feel free to have a look to this place, you will like it !

Here are the three wines we could choose :

- Bessa Valley, Enira 2009, Bulgaria, 11€ (red):
75% Merlot 15 Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Syrah, this wine is produced with the French Touch because the owner's coming from St Emilion. Red fruits and crispy aromas, it's like tasting a red-fruit pie
Because it seems really mouthwatering we chose this one !

- Bordeaux AOC, Château Machorre 2006, 9€ (red):
80% Merlo 20% Cabernet, this fruity & silky wine could be compare to the greatest wines of Bordeaux after been in a carafe

- Pessac Leognan, Barron de Rouillac 2010, 14€ (red):
60% Cabernet 40% Merlot, fruity and spicy there's some vanilla as well & will have all its taste in 6 or 7 years. The vineyard and the vine got a second youth due to the new owner and of course the wine can't but be better

Located Allée de Tourny, it's a really hold house from 1880, has the biggest suggestion of alcohol its dedicated Champagne shop and do not suggest only Bordeaux wine.

But let speak about WINE

The reason we were there ! and you are there...

With the advice of the Cellar-man, we had the choice between 3 wines all under 20€

- Beaujolais, RÉGNIÉ 2009, Domaine Georges Descombes, 17€ (red):
Fresh, solar and with soft tannin this wine taste like strawberries & raspberries with a mix of red & white pepper spice.

- Rhones, Crozes Hermitage 2011, Cuvée L, Domaine Laurent Combier, 14€ (red):
Fruits, stewed fruits and smoked hay give this wine the perfect freshness

- Sancerre, Taille Aux Loups 2011, Montlouis-Sur-Loire, 14€ (white) :
Mineral, limestone and salty, this wine is a dry white wine. Tasting like white fruits and a floral touch is fresh but with a bit of acidity

We chose the RÉGNÉ 2009, we will taste it soon, so...
